Ma Lessie’s Chicken & Waffles serves Southern comfort food inside Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal Market. Its signature chicken and waffles are accompanied by a menu that includes fried and baked chicken, fried fish, baked macaroni and cheese, collard greens, peach cobbler, and other soul-food favorites. Owner and West Philadelphia native Perry Ison named the restaurant in honor of his great-grandmother, Lessie Collins, whose influence also helped inspire the menu. The Reading Terminal Market location offers counter-service dining and takeout seven days a week.
